Our Coaches

Head Coach: Jacob Jackson, Assistant Coach: Darren Snyder

 

 HEAD COACH: JACOB JACKSON

Coach Jackson has been wrestling since he was 7 years old when he received a flyer at school to join the Carrollton Stars wrestling program. He took the flyer home to his dad expecting the Stars to be a program similar to WWE with ‘Jake the Snake’ instead of traditional folkstyle wrestling. After day 1 with the Stars, even though he was disappointed there was no ring, he was hooked.  

 

High School Success - Coach Jackson won 8 consecutive youth state titles, took 2nd his freshmen year of high school, 1st his sophomore year, 1st his junior year, and unfortunately, hurt his shoulder playing football his senior year and did not compete. He compiled a high school record of 111-3 and was ranked the #2 senior in the country at 152 lbs by WIN magazine.

 

Collegiate Success - He went on to wrestle for the University of Oklahoma. At Oklahoma, he backed up future NCAA champion Jarrod King and helped the Sooners take 3rd as a team in the NCAAs twice in the 4 years he was there.  He majored in Business Energy Management and spent 2 years working as a Landman in the Barnett Shale with Talon Oil & Gas.

 

Teaching & Coaching Success - He decided in 2010 to pursue a career in education and coaching starting at Killian Middle School in LISD.

 

Coach Jackson began coaching the Centennial Titans in 2012. He has won District Coach of the Year 5 times, Regional Coach of the Year 3 times, and 5A State Coach of the Year 2 times. Coach Jackson was also awarded the 2015 National Southwest Regional Coach of the Year. In 2020, he was inducted into the TX High School Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Honor.

The Titans under Coach Jackson have had much success:

  • 6 District titles
  • 3 Regional titles, never lower than 2nd at Regions
  • 2 UIL State titles
  • 4 State Dual titles
  • 1 UIL runner-up
  • 1 UIL 3rd place finish, and
  • 2 State Dual Runner-up finishes.

Coach Jackson is married to Michelle and father to Luke, Addilyn and Brooklyn.

ASSISTANT COACH: Darren Snyder

 

Coach Snyder is in the Texas wrestling hall of fame, has wrestled since he was 6 years old.  He is a man of character and integrity that is going to instill that in our men and women of Centennial wrestling. We are very excited about this addition to the team.

 Coach Snyder has over 30 years experience in education and coaching wrestling, 1st year at Centennial.

In Memory of coach Kerry Riley

 Centennial Wrestling Families, Friends & Fans -

 

It is with a very heavy heart to let you know that Coach Kerry Riley lost his battle to COVID on March 22, 2022 at Baylor Heart Hospital in Plano, TX. He was surrounded by his family. Our love and prayers go out to his wife, Natalie, his young daughter, Maura, and son, Logan, born March 17, 2022.

 

Coach Riley is originally from Roswell, New Mexico where he attended Roswell HS, and afterwards earned his degree at New Mexico State University. He taught and coached in the Ft. Worth, Bryan, and Frisco school districts. He taught history and was especially gifted in working with first year and inexperienced wrestlers. He coached Cen10 wrestling for several years including head JV coach and at the varsity 2020 state dual championship.

 

When a loved one dies, we are forever changed. We will forever remember Coach Riley’s smile and laughter, his sense of humor, and his empathic style. We will forever remember him lighting up when Natalie walked into the gym and holding Maura at wrestling events.

We are a small but mighty booster club who are parents, friends, and wrestling fans. Won't you join us? 

 

The Frisco Centennial Wrestling Booster Club is a non-profit organization classified as exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The tax ID number is 84-2788468.

 

Our activities and funds comply with the UIL Booster Club Guidelines, the FISD Booster Operational Training, the FISD Booster Club Requirements & Operational Guidelines, and our bylaws.

 

We support Centennial High School, a Region 2, District 8-5A school in Frisco, Texas.

 

Our purpose is to - 

  • Promote wrestling and school spirit among students and encourage parent participation;

  • Cooperate and work with the coaching staff, administrators, and faculty to enhance campus life and promote leadership qualities for all wrestlers;

  • Encourage all high levels of achievement for the team and its members without losing focus that it is the development of the youth that is the primary goal of any education and athletic program; and

  • Provide financial support and assistance to the wrestling program.
